The Kitchen

A taste of France

A delight for lovers of food and drink, the south west of France produces some of the finest produce including truffles, fois gras, cheese and of course world renowned wines.

The Charente region itself boasts its own culinary delights and at Les Ombrieres we are privileged to have such fantastic produce on our door step. Great goat cheeses, walnut oil, Limousine beef, Charentais melons, and some of the finest oysters and shellfish can be sourced locally. Not forgetting Cognac and Bordeaux wines.

During your stay, why not savour the flavours of French cooking, both traditional and with a modern  twist, from the kitchen or our outdoor clay oven, celebrating the local produce and fresh seasonal fruit, herbs and vegetables from our own kitchen garden.

Evening 3 course Table d’hote, light lunches, picnics and refreshments are available on request.

Half board packages are also available on request (please contact us for more details).

The Kitchen Garden

From the garden to your plate

The recently developed potager and orchard produces seasonal fruit and vegetables for use in the kitchen when ever possible, to ensure that the food served at breakfast or on our table d’hote menus is the freshest it can possibly be.

At Les Ombrieres we believe in sustainability and seasonality and strive to minimise waste and use organic gardening practices whenever possible.
